Recess is a completely gluten free restaurant. Honestly, if they didn’t tell me, I wouldn’t even know.

We did the ‘feed me’ menu and it was extremely good value at 50 dollars each. We had about 8 dishes, all of superb quality. The fried chicken was as good as any, and all without gluten.

The cocktails were not bad, but I’d avoid the mocktails.

Service is very personable, and easy going.

The room is quite stylish and straight out of Fitzroy. Upstairs is an adults only bar, that we’ve yet to try. Will keep you posted.
